"Sitting in a Bar in Adelaide" Rock Show

"Sitting in a Bar in Adelaide" Rock Show gets its name from a rare recording by 70s Australian supergroup 'Skyhooks'. The shows aim is to bring you rare and 'deleted' Australian rock form the 1970s...stuff u just cant buy (I promise to absolutely never play anything by 'Air Supply'). And promote new rock coming out of the city of Adelaide in South Australia. Hopefully the ancient 'gems' I dig up will bring back memories or introduce you to some classic rock from downunder...and ultimately get you searching for recordings by these artist still currently available and BUY them.....Most of the artists I will feature are still making great rock in some shape or form...support them - go see em - buy their CDs. I will update gig guides of where the acts are playing in Australia. (if youre anywhere else in the world - JUMP ON A PLANE)

Sitting in a bar in Adelaide #73 Madder Lake

This week I chat to Mick Fettes & Brendan Mason
from iconic Australian band form the 70s Madder Lake.

Madder Lakes 1973 LP Stillpoint is highly regarded
as a classic of Aussie rock.
The LP has be reissued in a great package from
Aztec music.
And Madder Lake are performing live again.

We chat about Stillpoint, the lost Madder Lake tapes of
"Brave New World" an orchestral extravaganza with David Meesham.
Also about Micks band after Madder Lake called Bandicoot
(which featured popular Aussie actor Shane Bourne),
the bands early days with Mushroom Records
...and the future of Madder Lake.
