Dr. Lina Obeid, professor in the Department of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina, discusses her research in how cells grow and how it relates to cancer and the aging process. She explains how cancer is closely related to the aging process, and how her research is geared toward explaining why certain cells become cancerous over time. Dr. Obeid describes how this research has progressed so far throughout her career, and what questions she ultimately hopes to answer through this work.
