Sermon delivered by Pastor Randy Pabst. With this nation in the grip of the Great depression, President Roosevelt proclaimed, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself!” And it is revealing to know that fear too often feeds upon itself. We too live in a “fear-filled” time. So it becomes even more important for us to listen to the words of the Prophet Isaiah as he addressed people caught up in cycle of fear. His response, of course, was the response of God! Today we hear again God calling us to trust in God’s divine presence that will over-come ALL fear—even the fear of death!
